The TOTANI Have Landed: BakPac Boosts Spouted Pouch Power

BakPac has officially installed two new TOTANI automatic spout inserters at Bakers in Brentwood, Essex, adding serious new power to our custom printed spouted pouch production.

This is a more than half-a-million-pound investment in one of the most exciting areas of flexible packaging: spouted pouches for refill, liquid and pourable products.

And it is not just another machinery update. It is a big, bold step forward for brands that need flexible packaging with more function, more speed, more scalability and much more shelf presence.

From delivery day to installation completion
The two TOTANI automatic spout inserters arrived at Bakers on Thursday 6 August 2026.

Our facilities and maintenance team handled the delivery, offload, unpacking and careful move into the BakPac production room before TOTANI engineers arrived on site to complete the installation.

Installation began on Monday 10 August and was completed over four days, with the machines installed and commissioned by Friday 14th August.

Both machines are now installed and running live customer work, with continued trials, testing and operator training taking place as the BakPac team builds up production.

In short: they’re in, they’re running, and the results are already looking very good.

Top spouts, corner spouts and more format choice
The new TOTANI machines support both top spouts and corner spouts, giving brands more choice depending on the product, fill process and end-user experience.

BakPac is initially offering 10mm, 17.5mm and 21.5mm spout sizes, with pouch formats from 50ml up to 5 litres.

That opens up a wide range of options for brands working with liquids, gels, creams, sauces, supplements, cocktails, refills and other pourable products.

More capacity where it really counts
Spout insertion happens near the end of the production process.

The pouch has already been printed. It has already been laminated.
It has already been converted. So if spout insertion becomes a bottleneck, everything slows down.

This investment helps remove that pressure.

The new machines give BakPac a huge increase in spouted pouch capacity and more control over quality, planning and delivery.

For customers, that means better availability for refill pouch projects, particularly medium and longer runs where speed, consistency and repeatability really matter.
