Spartech to Purchase Alltrista Plastic Packaging Division

Spartech Corp. (St. Louis, MO) has entered into an agreement to acquire the net assets of the Alltrista Plastic Packaging Division of Alltrista Corp., a manufacturer of extruded sheet and rollstock packaging materials. The sales price of the transaction is expected to close by the end of the month.

"This acquisition will significantly increase our thin-gauge extrusion capacity, broaden our product and service capabilities in the high-barrier, co-extruded rollstock markets and add a packaging technical laboratory to better serve our customers in this segment of the plastics industry," said Spartech's Chairman, President and CEO, Bradley Buechler.

Spartech is a producer of engineered thermoplastic materials, polymeric compounds and molded and profile products with 39 facilities located throughout North America and Europe.
