The Model 108-36 Shrink Wrapper bundles and shrink wraps empty plastic bottles at an infeed rate of approximately 145 bottles/min. The shrink wrap offers a measure of protection against dust, dirt and moisture. Since a clear film is used, the product is easily identified by sight. The unitized, shrink-wrapped bundles allow for scores of bottles to be picked up and handled as a group. Bundles can be stacked on a pallet and stretch wrapped, thus completely eliminating the need, weight, cost, and extra labor required in making and packing corrugated boxes.
The system receives the bottles in a single file, where they are accumulated into a row, then pushed onto a dead plate. The process continues until the last row is accumulated. The rows are then pushed through a web of film and sealed from behind. As the bundle advances, two additional seal bars seal the open sides, completely enclosing the bundle in 2.0-mil clear, low-density polyethylene (LDPE) as it heads into the shrink tunnel.
