Peelable Sealants Offer High Seal Strength And Tamper Evidence

Allegro sealant formulations are smooth, peelable heat seals that are tamper-evident and have high peel strength with no fiber tear. Allegro sealants are multi-layer coextruded formulations that can be applied to a variety of different base materials to create easily machinable flexible composites with a wide range of barrier properties.

Available in clear, blue tint, and custom color tints, the sealants leave a white or colored transfer on the surface of the material it is sealed to when the package is peeled open, creating a visual indication of seal integrity. Unlike peelable sealants that result in an adhesive failure of the seal when peeled, these sealants actually split, leaving behind a visible sealant layer that provides tamper evidence to the end-user of the product and eliminates the contamination concerns associated with Tyvek fiber tear.

Food processors and manufacturers of medical devices and diagnostics can easily run the sealant coextrusions on conventional high-speed vertical and horizontal form-fill-seal equipment as well as a variety of other heat sealing systems. The sealant layer can produce seals with high peel strengths, typically ranging from one to three pounds per inch, depending on the application and the customer's requirements; they can also be applied to a wide variety of base materials.
