The PAL (Packaging Automated Logistics) System uses networked, Windows-based software that enables companies to dramatically improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the packaging and shipping operations. The system represents a major advance in the market for inside-the-box protective packaging.

The software integrates with the company's AutoPad machines, which convert rolls of multi-ply kraft paper into lightweight cushions used to protect almost any product shipped in a box. The software establishes a centralized pack instruction database that is shared by one or more packing workstations in one or more locations.

The PC displays detailed specifications to the operators on how to pack each item as it comes down the line, then prompts the converter to generate the appropriate PadPak pads. The system tracks all of this activity, creating productivity reports, updating inventories and monitoring all functions of the converters.]

The system helps lower total packaging costs by reducing training time, optimizing materials consumption and minimizing damage in transit. By reducing costs, increasing productivity and ensuring compliance with standards, the PAL system strengthens a company's overall warehouse and logistics operations.

The PAL system brings a new level of automation and information technology to the packaging and shipping function. The standards-based system is able to exchange data with compatible warehouse management. Server-based network architecture enables the system to run on a single PC or dedicated network, or reside on a customer's existing network. Networked AutoPad converters execute packaging instructions and collect data on the entire process.
