PACK EXPO 2000: Container Dri II Bags

Manufacturers and transporters of ferrous and non-ferrous metal parts can prevent rust, pitting and other moisture damage during shipping with Container Dri II bags. A proprietary formulation, Container Dri II draws moisture into the microporous Tyvek bag, transforming it into a gel, and preventing moisture from leaking back out onto cargo. Ambient moisture within containers is controlled for up to 40 days, making it ideal for trans-oceanic and intermodal applications. The bags are simply placed on or around corrugated boxes or wooden pallets.

A recent advance adds adhesive to bags, enabling them to be placed directly onto corrugated packaging. The bags eliminate the need for Volatile Corrosion Inhibitors (VCI's), plastic wrap, grease, or oil because no cleaning or treatments of metal parts are required once they arrive at their destination. Container bags can be easily removed and disposed of with normal waste.
