OPP Films for Bakery Products

AET Films has introduced two new oriented polypropylene (OPP) films created specifically for baked goods packaging. The transparent films — designated FAST and BCH — are ideal for single web plain or surface printed applications.

FAST and BCH are one-side sealable, one-side treated, coextruded films designed for use with solvent-based inks. FAST can be used on high-speed horizontal packaging machines and in packout operations requiring critical static COF performance. FAST has excellent slip and hot slip properties that optimize machine performance. Its moisture barrier and wide sealing range contribute to high performance in the packaging of candy, snack cakes, baked foods and similar food products. Other features include superior clarity and surface gloss, excellent temperature range and a print surface specifically created for flexographic printing processes.

BCH also is designed for use in the horizontal packaging of snacks, crackers, biscuits and other baked food products. Its features include good slip characteristics, hot tack performance and excellent stability over wide temperature ranges during printing. Like FAST, BCH is flexographic printable and provides good clarity and surface gloss along with a good moisture barrier and sealing range.
