Online Package Inspection for Flexibles, Plastics

The new PBI-100 flexible package inspection system, designed for the food and beverage markets, is capable of detecting minute leaks and other defects in flexible packages, including plastic bottles, pouches and tubes. The PBI-100 uses a side-belt transport system that compresses each package under test. Sensors monitor the package at the entrance and exit of the machine and compare their readings. If a defect is detected, the system automatically rejects the flawed package from the production line.

Designed for easy installation and setup, the PBI-100 does not require any modification to the user's conveyor system. It is adjustable, allowing one machine to be used on a variety of different-sized packages and configurations. The company's standard TT-100 controller monitors all sensor data and rejection management, and each system is supplied with TapTone PC statistical process control and display software. The PBI-100 is available in several configurations and with various options and accessories.
