Over the last 50 years, Okura Industrial Company has established itself as one of the world's leading producers of flexible plastic films for industrial and consumer packaging applications. Today, we have 12 manufacturing plants producing over 400 million pounds of flexible plastic film each year. In addition to plastics films, we are a leading manufacturer of wood based panels for the furniture and construction industries. We are publicly traded on the Tokyo stock exchange and have total sales in excess of US$ 900 million.

Nearly 60% of our sales come from our Plastics Division which specializes in producing flexible packaging films. Currently, Okura USA (our North American sales and distribution company) is focusing its efforts on heat shrinkable polyolefin films. We produce shrink films that are EPB monolayer, EPC/HAO multilayer, EVOH barrier, antifog and various crosslinked types. All of our Vanguard® shrink films comply with FDA and USDA regulations and have built a solid reputation for consistency, performance, and value.

In addition to our high clarity, high speed shrink films, we also manufacture a wide variety of HDPE, LDPE, CPP and LLDPE films. Factory no. 5 is our main film converting plant and in it, we produce a broad array of printed rollstock and bags from BOPP, CPP, HDPE, LDPE, nylon, polyester, and films produced from other specialty resins. We utilize both gravure and flexographic printing methods to produce very high quality graphics on our flexible films. A plastic film used in the manufacturer of LCD screens for laptop computers is just one example of a product developed and produced by our Advanced Research department.

You can rely on Okura for your flexible packaging needs.
