Moulded Fibre Technology Iowa Plant Receives ISO 9002 Certification
Moulded Fibre Technology (MFT), a manufacturer of protective packaging made from 100% recycled paper, said yesterday that its Clinton, Iowa, plant has received ISO 9002 certification. The certification of MFT's Quality System was issued by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL), an independent ISO registrar. The ISO 9002 designation certifies that the quality system in MFT's facility has been independently reviewed and meets stringent international guidelines for manufacturing processes.
"ISO 9002 certification reflects the increasingly sophisticated nature of our manufacturing process and technology," said Dave Cooper, VP and GM of Moulded Fibre Technology. "It is a strong endorsement of our commitment to quality and excellent service to our customers. Since we are one of the only companies in our industry niche to have achieved this status, we believe it will provide a competitive advantage going forward."
ISO certification is increasingly becoming an important criterion in vendor selection processes because the designation is only earned after a long and detailed audit by an independent review team. Moulded Fibre Technology, which was founded in 1990, designs and manufactures protective packaging and three-dimensional products from 100% recycled paper. The packaging is utilized for a range of electronic products such as cellular phones, modems, printers and storage drives. MFT has three domestic manufacturing facilities in Maine, Iowa and California and licensees of its technology in Europe and China. MFT is a division of UFP Technologies Inc., which supplies a broad range of packaging products to blue-chip customers across the United States.
