Motion Analyzer

Eastman Kodak Co. HS Motion Analyzer, Model 4540mx is an ultra high speed digital video recording system with the ability to record up to 4500 full frames/sec., and up to 40,500 partial frames/sec. for immediate playback. These fast frame rates allow motion analysis and image storage of extremely rapid events such as air bag deployment, disk drive head movement and ballistics studies.

Operating as a digital image recorder, the system can store up to 24,576 full frames and up to 393,216 partial frames in electronic memory. Digital images can be replayed from memory for instant viewing.

Trigger signals can be received from a variety of sources including optical, acoustical, impact, acceleration, temperature and proximity sensors. Frames can be stored as pre-trigger or post-trigger images, or as a combination of both. Individual and discrete groups of frames may also be recorded.

The 256 x 256-pixel sensor produces sharp images with 256 levels of gray. In addition, the light sensitivity of the system is excellent, reducing the need for supplemental lighting. Once captured by the system, the images can be downloaded to standard videotape.
