Model 2138 Dual-Action Tamp label printer-applicator
When a label is printed, it is automatically peeled from its liner and retained by vacuum on an applicator pad. The tamp pad is mounted on a 90° rotary swing arm that reaches across a conveyor to apply the label to the front panel of the moving carton. Upon its return, a second label is printed and a separate straight-line stroke applies that label to the side of the carton to complete the cycle. Depending on label size, the systems can maintain up to 40 cycles/min at a placement accuracy of ±0.03 in.
The systems are available with several print engines, including 203- or 300-dpi units. Label sizes range from a minimum of 2 in. wide and 1 in. long to a maximum of 7 in. wide and 6 in. long. The printers are capable of providing labels with variable-sized text, bar codes and graphic images at print speeds up to 12 in./sec.
