MOCON Introduces the SKYE 2000 with RS-232
MINNEAPOLIS, January 27 – MOCON announced today that the SKYE 2000 combination package test system for leaks and seal strength now comes with RS-232 standard communication output. The SKYE is a microprocessor-controlled package test system that gives an accurate and reproducible measurement of package integrity and seal strength. This automatic test system identifies very quickly (approximately 15-30 seconds for an average test) the stress areas and weaknesses of a package. RS-232 enables the SKYE 2000 to communicate with a PC to make test results easier to work with.
The SKYE 2000 helps identify problem areas in seal strength. It can be used to analyze all types of packaging including flexible packages, rigid packages, snacks, canisters, and open and closed-end tubes.
Leaks can cause short shelf-lives and other quality problems. Improper sealing procedures and weaknesses in packaging materials are hard to detect without sensitive instruments. By testing random production samples with the SKYE, adjustments to production can be made before a problem gets out of hand.
