Melog™ - Collapsible Hand-held Container

Arca Systems' collapsible Melog™ container was designed for returnable packaging systems that handle produce from the field directly to the grocer's shelf. Following the recommendation of the Produce Task Force's Voluntary Guidelines for Returnable Containers in North America, the Melog™ is available in 16x12-inches (400x300-mm) and 24x16-inches (600x400-mm) standard footprints.

Easy to use and easy to store, the Melog™ container is easily collapsed and constructed by hand or machine. The sides have a positive lock and are firmly locked when erected. By releasing the locks, the Melog™ can be quickly collapsed to a stackable flat that offers a cost-effective and space saving 5:1 return ratio. Containers also safely interlock when stacked allowing retail floor displays to be created.

The smooth interior of the Melog™ container ensures gentle handling of contents in transit. Due to the container's highly perforated design, cool-down time is very short and water does not collect on its base. This leads to less product shrinkage and provides a longer shelf life. In addition, when products are displayed in a Melog™ container, customers get a feeling of straight-from-the–grower natural freshness since there is no need for repacking in between.

The Melog™ container eliminates the costly, dirty handling of one-way packaging material. The same container can be used for harvesting, storage, shipping and retail display. Once you implement a Melog™ container system, you say goodbye to collection, sorting, compacting and removal-as well as rising waste disposal.
