Marken Enhances Presence In China
Expansion of Business License approved; begins construction on new depot and operations base
Marken announced recently that it has recently received approval for its application for an expanded business license to allow the storage and distribution of clinical trial supplies and drug product in China. The expansion of Marken's business license was approved by the Beijing Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM). This adds to the company's already rapidly growing courier business in China and will pave the way for the expansion of outbound storage and distribution services in the region. Marken has long and well established experience in China. The company also announced that it has begun construction for its new operating base in Beijing which will be home to its branch operations and its purpose built clinical depot. The Company is expected to be complete with all construction, commissioning and validation in the second quarter of 2012.

"We already have a significant presence in Asia, with offices in Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, Beijing and Tokyo. We recognize the importance of the region and are making plans to increase further, reaching into new geographies and ensuring that Marken will continue its leadership in supply chain management".

We have engaged a global engineering and construction firm to assist us and ensure that the standards of construction are up to the highest standards in the industry".
