MARKEM introduces 9096S Small Character Ink Jet Coder.

MARKEM Corp.oder is the only single-printhead, small character ink-jet coder capable of printing a legend up to 1in. high. The coder offers a 14in. single legend length, and prints up to eight lines of text or information. The newest member of the small character ink jet family, which includes the 9064 and 9064S coders, the coder gives high-speed packagers a versatile alternative to messy, solvent-based continuous ink jet printing.

The coder uses Touch Dry ink, an instantly drying ink that comes in clean, easy-to-handle blocks that is completely non-toxic – an important requirement for many industries, such as food and beverage. The ink also produces a high-quality mark that does not smudge, even in high speed printing.

The unit features intuitive, user-friendly software that allows operators to program an entire day's code changes only once, while pre-programmed messages and graphics can be easily stored, recalled and displayed. The coder can also be integrated into production or packaging lines; manufacturers can network a central PC to more than 60 individual coders and labeling systems on the factory floor, creating a streamlined, cost-efficient window.
