MACtac® Introduces Line of Narrow Web Flexible Packaging Solutions
Stow, OH – Fall 2002 – Designed exclusively for narrow web printers, MACtac® has introduced flexible packaging products to meet growing industry demands for faster turnaround and shorter press runs. MACtac's line of flexible packaging films includes a variety of paper/foil laminates, metallized polyester laminates and polyester/foil laminates. The products are designed for a wide spectrum of applications ranging from food and coffee pouches to personal and home care product samples.
Originally developed by Curwood®, an industry leader in flexible packaging technology, for wide web, long printing runs, these films have been adapted for narrow web presses. The result means an increase in opportunities for converters searching for cost-effective, reliable products to offer specialty packagers. In addition, MACtac's responsive customer service helps converters get materials in hand promptly for quick-to-market orders.
"MACtac's narrow web flexible packaging products give printers and packagers greater ability to meet micro branding requests and rush orders," says Greg Martin, MACtac Printing Products business manager, flexible packaging. "The products open up multiple opportunities for promotional, niche and trial packages."
MACtac, a worldwide supplier of pressure sensitive label materials, offers the following products from its flexible packaging line:
Curlam® Paper/Foil Laminates – For a variety of primary and secondary packaging needs, Curlam laminates protect package contents from external contamination. Curlam MG Paper/Foil/LDPE laminates accept line and some process printing and are typically used in secondary packaging, non-retail and economical look applications. Curlam C1S Paper/Foil/LDPE laminates are used for high quality line and process printing on primary packaging. Designed for hard-to-hold products, Curlam C1S Paper/Foil/Surlyn® is utilized for high quality printing on primary packaging; the Surlyn prevents leakers in harsh packaging environments and in applications where aggressive contents attack other sealants.
Java-flex® Metallized Polyester Laminates – Java-flex laminates house ground coffee, cocoa and other similar dry beverage products. The laminates are designed for ground product packages of less than one pound. Fractional Java-flex coffee film is suitable for gas flush applications requiring low oxygen and Moisture Vapor Transmission Rates (MVTR). Flavored Java-flex coffee film features a unique metallizing technology that allows for packaging of flavored ground coffee, citrus and other ingredients that typically attack the metallized layer.
Liquiflex® Polyester/Foil Laminates – Durable Liquiflex laminates are used for a variety of liquid and solid product packaging applications. For freezer applications, Clear Liquiflex Packaging Film features window clear protection for general packaging and freezer applications. Both White Liquiflex Cosmetic Film and Silver Liquiflex Cosmetic Film are designed for cosmetics, personal care products, liquids, medical products, spices, snacks and powders.
