Klöckner Pentaplast To Display New Shrink-Label Films At Label Expo '04
New Pentaprint® Frosty Matte Label Film
The Pentaprint® product line of shrink label films has been extended to include Pentaprint® OT M276/41 vinyl shrink-label film with a frosty matte surface for full-body shrink-sleeve label applications. The film is engineered to provide a frosty appearance on glass, thereby offering a cost-effective, shrink-sleeve film alternative to acid-etched glass containers. Klöckner Pentaplast is the only global supplier to offer this film.
The new frosty matte Pentaprint® OT M276/41 film has 52% shrink properties and is available in 60-micron clear matte/gloss film. Pentaprint® OT M276/41 film is suitable for use with glass or plastic containers. As with all Pentaplast shrink films, this new film offers excellent gauge control, lay flat properties, ink adhesion, and seaming ability.
New Pentaprint® 45-Micron PETG Shrink-Label Films
The Pentaprint® product line of shrink-label films has been extended to include Pentaprint® 45-micron
(1.77 mils) OT E746/91 regular-shrink and OT E749/50 high-shrink PETG films for full-body shrink-sleeve
label, bottle capsule (cap seal), tamper-evident band, and multi-pack applications. Now available in 45-micron thickness, this polyester film represents a 10% reduction in available film thickness in the marketplace today.
The Pentaprint® 45-micron films allow customers to reduce their current film thickness requirements which provide significant cost savings due to increased yields; thereby providing a more cost-effective polyester shrink-label film. Produced in the U.S. and Europe, Klöckner Pentaplast is the only global supplier to offer this PETG shrink-label film in this thickness.
The new 45-micron regular-shrink Pentaprint® OT E746/91 film has 56% shrink properties and the high-shrink Pentaprint® OT E749/50 film has 78% shrink properties. Both films are engineered for products requiring excellent uniform shrinkage for full-body shrink sleeves. As with all Pentaplast shrink films, this new film offers excellent gauge control and lay-flat properties for ease of printing and application. The Pentaprint® films are suitable for flexographic and gravure printing processes.
New Pentaprint® Anti-Static Coated Films
Klöckner Pentaplast of America, Inc.'s line of vinyl and PETG shrink-label films for full-body shrink-sleeve label, bottle capsule (cap seal), tamper-evident band, and multi-pack applications is now available with anti-static coating. Pentaprint® AS8 (vinyl) and AS7 (PETG) coatings minimize the build up of static on the film surface during flexographic and rotogravure high-speed printing processes. Klöckner Pentaplast is the only global supplier to offer these films.
The Pentaprint® AS8 and AS7 coatings reduce the risk of ‘flashing' or sparks if the customer is using solvents in the printing process, thereby allowing the customer to process the shrink-label film more safely than non-coated films. The Pentaprint® coatings also provide enhanced film processability for high-speed applicating machinery that is used to apply each label to the sleeved container.
Broad Range of Shrink Films
Applications will also be shown of Klöckner Pentaplast's broad range of other shrink-label and pressure-sensitive label films, including Pentaprint® and Pentapharm® rigid vinyl, polyester, and BAREX® films. Klöckner Pentaplast's TDO shrink sleeve films are ideal or full or partial body wrapping of bottles, cans, jars, and multi-packs, in addition to tamper-evident bands. MDO films are designed for pressure-sensitive labels. Klöckner Pentaplast's unique processing technology results in films with superior gauge uniformity and shrink properties that translate into production and efficiency savings for customers.
Founded in the U.S. in 1977, Klöckner Pentaplast of America, Inc., is the largest producer of high-quality rigid films in the Americas. The company's product line includes vinyl, polyester, polypropylene, high-impact polystyrene (HIPS), BAREX®, ACLAR®-laminated, COC-laminated and -coated, and PVDC-coated films for pharmaceutical, medical device, food, electronics, and general-purpose thermoform packaging, as well as printing and specialty applications.
