Ilapak introduces easy open wet wipes

Ilapak Inc. has recently introduced a rigid plastic lid for wet wipes packages that replaces the more conventional peel and re-seal label. This improved lid design allows easy, one handed opening of the package. The wipes inside are interleafed for "pop up" convenience.

The rigid plastic lid applicator can be applied in line as an integral part of Ilapak's Delta Packaging System, or applied down stream using robotics. The robotic plastic lid applicator system is easily interfaced to Ilapak or other packaging machines. The key advantages of an Ilapak Delta system are speed, efficiency and total system reliability.

Ilapak, Inc. started designing Delta flexible wet wipe packaging systems in 1992. The original concept (which is still available today) involved overwrapping the wipes and incorporating a re-closable label on the top of the package.
