HMC-900 Carton Closer

The Model HMC-900 Tri-Seal closer is designed to close a variable range of tri-seal style cartons in a small 4' x 10' area of floor space. The size range is from 5" x 3-1/2" x 1" to 12" x 8" x 3-1/2". The A. E. Randles Company has built simple adjustments into the HMC-900, requiring only a few change parts for each size, and a changeover time of 30 minutes or less. The standard machine accepts a product filled carton from a belted conveyor. Our patented flag systems then times the carton into the main chain flights where a single row deboss doder imprints the front flap. A glue wheel then applies hot melt adhesive to this same flap. The carton is then transferred 90 degrees by a second set of chain flights which carries it across two more glue wheels, then upwards through the compression area. After accumulating the proper number of cartons, the top carton is ejected from the machine onto a discharge chute. The simultaneous closing of all three flaps, and the capture of all six faces in compression assures a square carton.
