Flat Belts

Source: Mectrol Corporation
Polyurethane Body is the most wear resistant polymer for belts
Features and Benefits
Polyurethane Body is the most wear resistant polymer for belts
Polyurethane offers extremely good abrasion resistance. Low wear means that the belts will be very clean running with no accumulation of wear material

Steel or Kevlar Reinforcement
Both Steel and Kevlar offer high stiffness and tensile strength. Mectrol flat belt has much less stretch than a traditional flat belt, therefore, it will not run properly on a crowned pulley. Flat pulleys with flanges for tracking are required.

Linear Placement of Cords
All cords in Mectrol's linear belt are located in the belt parallel to the belt edges. As opposed to belts that are produced with a helically wound cord, these belts will exert little or no side force making them much easier to track.

Other advantages to Mectrol flat belts
No re-tensioning required
High operating speeds
No lubrication required
