Eltron Shareholders Approve Merger With Zebra Technologies

Eltron International, Inc.'s (Simi Valley, CA) shareholders have voted in favor of the proposal to merge with Zebra Technologies Corp. The transaction, said Eltron chairman and CEO Donald K. Skinner, is slated to be completed today. Following the merger, Eltron International will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Zebra Technologies. The transaction is structured as a tax-free pooling of interests.

Zebra Technologies manufactures and distributes a broad line of thermal transfer and direct thermal demand label printers used in automatic identification (bar code) applications worldwide. The company also offers software and related supplies, including more than 200 label and ribbon combinations. Zebra's customers include more than 70% of the Fortune 500. ISO 9002-certified, Eltron International designs and manufactures a broad line of thermal label printers, plastic card printers and security printing systems. Printers include direct and thermal transfer bar code label and receipt printers, integrated verified printing systems, plastic card printers and secure ID printing systems. Major users are in the package delivery, health care, retail, industrial, manufacturing, automotive, financial services, security and government markets worldwide.
