Duracell Selects Bergen Computer's Paramount System For Shipment Verification

Source: Bergen Computer
Bergen Computer>, a developer of technologically advanced products that meet EDI, data collection, verification, ASN and compliance requirements of manufacturers and retailers, announced an agreement with Duracell, the well known manufacturer of batteries, for installation of Paramount verification and compliance labeling systems in each of the manufacturer's four distribution centers.

Duracell selected Bergen's Paramount System for its high degree of flexibility after examining a number of verification systems. "The software's modular design allows addition of new retailer profiles as needed, and the Bethel installation has already proven to Duracell that installation can be accomplished without disrupting operations. We anticipate that a single RF scanner will be able to handle the requirements of each location, making the system very cost effective. All were key factors in Duracell's decision," explained Bergen's Manager of Technical Marketing.

Each installation will include a Paramount Workstation equipped with Teklogix RF base stations and portable scanners as well as Monarch 9830 or 9490 label printing systems. The systems will enable Duracell to properly process orders according to requirements mandated by large retail concerns such as Kmart, Montgomery Ward's, Penny's and Target for carton and pallet level shipments. Before the installation, Duracell's distribution centers simply applied labels generated by stand-alone label generation software without verification. The new system will allow complete compliance with present and anticipated future customer requirements, including ASN processing and UCC 128 label generation.
