Deltalab Adds Two ULMA Packaging FM 300 Flow Pack Machines To Its Production Lines

The spanish company has increased its activity due to the high market demand for PCR tests.

Deltalab
Deltalab is a leading company in the design and manufacturing of laboratory products based in Barcelona, which has seen a huge increase in 2020 in the demand for its biological sample collection and transport products, which are used during PCR tests. This has led the Catalan company to add 2 new swab packaging lines, choosing ULMA Packaging once again, and adding two new FM 300 flow pack packaging lines to its current production lines, automatic packaging lines with automatic loading of swab transport tubes, featuring state-of-the-art packaging technology.

True to its original philosophy of maintaining the highest quality standards and its commitment to technological innovation and development, with the aim of being at the forefront of plastic injection products for the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector, Deltalab has chosen ULMA Packaging as its trustworthy packaging and packing solution provider, allowing the company to offer the safest and most innovative products.

DeltaSwab ViCUM
Its product DeltaSwab ViCUM consists of a new range of swabs and transport and enrichment media, adapted to the current needs of healthcare professionals. It has been specifically designed to collect and transport microbiological samples that contain viruses, chlamydia, ureaplasma and/or mycoplasma.

Due to the high demand for PCR tests, Deltalab has seen the need to add these new horizontal flow pack (HFFS) wrapping units, which produce packages with three fully sealed pockets, creating pillow pack packages with automatic loading of the transport tubes. This unit features state-of-the-art developments and it will join their existing machinery inventory - a TFS 300 unit that seals and packs 10 pre-cut tests, allowing Deltalab to increase its production rate, which is currently 500,000 PCR tests per week, with two lines capable of producing an additional 4,000 packages per hour on each line.

Versatile and flexible formats
Deltalab has chosen to invest in these new flow pack lines since they offer a versatile and flexible format, which can cater to the current PCR swab test packaging needs, designed for the market of products used to collect samples to analyse and detect viruses, while allowing the line to be adapted to alternative applications in the future.

With a global presence in more than 125 countries and a network of over 900 distributors, Deltalab has been offering its services over the past 35 years internationally to leading clinics, hospitals, industries, universities and laboratories across 5 continents, which choose the Catalan company for its top-quality products. ULMA Packaging is working hand-in-hand with Deltalab during its growth and expansion, offering the most suitable and state-of-the-art packaging solutions for such a demanding and dynamic industry as the medical/pharmaceutical industry.
