Crushable Glass Ampoules

The Crushable Glass Ampoule is a glass tube which is first filled with a liquid or powder and is then hermetically sealed with a nitrogen flush to provide a compact, sturdy package that maintains product stability, isolation and longevity until the product is needed. At that point, the user simply applies a slight amount of pressure to crush the ampoule and release the product it contains.

Because of their design flexibility, the uses for the ampoule are practically limitless, with applications in such diverse industries as medical, first aid, cosmetics and toiletries, retail, diagnostics, dental products, health and beauty aids, fragrances, industrial lubricants, adhesives and more.

The ampoules are used in delivery systems ranging from simple swabs and applicators to dropper-tip assemblies, inhalants, unit-dose swabs, ampoule-in-abottle and more, and can be easily integrated into many different types of endproduct packaging.

In simple packaging, such as a medicinal swab or disposable cosmetic, the ampoule is safely stored within a plastic or paper container and crushed between two fingers. In more complex packaging, such as air fresheners, dye marking/theft prevention devices, pregnancy test kits, etc., a simple mechanical action serves to crush the unseen ampoule and release the product.
