Crayon X-tra and MCP Large Character coders: two complementary ranges for marking secondary packaging

Industrial companies use secondary packaging mainly for warehousing and logistics. This requires the marking of simple text (for example, product names), variable data (for example, date, shift number, batch number), logos (for example, handling symbols), bar codes. To meet these needs, Imaje offers a range of large character coders that use the following technologies:
- DOD Valve or "drop-on-demand" (Crayon X-tra coders), a low cost solution for printing text and variable data directly on to packages;
- DOD piezoelectric technology (MCP and MCP Barcode coders), for high resolution printing (up to 188 dpi) of text, variable data, logos and bar codes directly on to packages.
The Crayon X-tra coder is dedicated to applications that require the printing of several lines (printhead with 7 and 16 nozzles) on porous and semi-porous materials, with characters 10 to 64 m high. Easy to use and economical to operate, this coder can be used to print logos. It can also be remote-controlled via the RS 232 serial connection.
FOCUS ON THE TECHNICAL ASSETS OF MCP CODERS
The MCP coder (with a printhead featuring 6X32 and 11X32 nozzles) is used for the high quality printing of several lines and/or logos on porous materials.
The MCP coder allows companies to personalize their packaging in the most cost-effective way by printing five lines of variable text in characters from 4 to 48 mm high, and by creating and printing logos.
The MCP Barcode coder (with a printhead featuring 11X32 nozzles) has been designed for the complete identification of packages: marking with characters up to 48 mm high, bar codes (EAN 128, EAN 13, EAN 8, UPCA, code 39, code 128, ITF14) etc. Using pigmented oil-based ink, it prints high quality bar codes that are light-fast and readable by infrared readers.
