Campbell Soup Company Purchases Stockpot Soup

Campbell Soup Company this week announced that it has agreed to purchase the assets of Fortun Foods, makers of Stockpot soup, the market leader in premium refrigerated soup segment.

This acquisition builds on last year's purchase of Liebig, the leading wet soup in France and the 1996 acquisition of Erasco, Germany's leading wet soup.

Premium refrigerated soups in the U.S. is a rapidly growing segment in the foodservice sector, which includes restaurants, grocery , deli bars, and convenience stores. From its production plant in Redmond, WA, Stockpot sells more than 50 soup varieties in the U.S including Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
