AVC Corp Offers An End2end Solution For The New Packaging Standards Set By Amazon

Beginning August 1, select products “Sold and Fulfilled by Amazon” will be required to be certified under its “Frustration Free Packaging (FFP) Program” or risk a chargeback for every package not certified.

Rancho Dominguez, CA (PRWEB) - To maximize packaging reductions, Amazon packages larger than 18" x 14" x 8" or 20 lbs or more, must use a designed and certified ready-to-ship FFP package. The packaged products must arrive at the Amazon fulfillment center in this certified packaging that does not require any shipping preparation or an overbox to be applied. The good part is that vendors may retain their ‘branding’ on the package.

With May almost behind us, brands should act immediately because the Amazon chargebacks will be as high as $1.99 per unit. To incentivize vendors and to assist in the transition costs associated with the FFP program, Amazon is offering an early adopter credit of $1.00/unit to vendors that certify their items under FFP guidelines by July 31. After that date, select products sold and fulfilled by Amazon will have a chargeback for every unit not certified.

Managing a quality supply chain becomes more challenging and AVC joined the Amazon APASS Network (Amazon Packaging Support and Supply) to create efficient FFP packaging solutions. “After 30 years in the business, we know how a good supply chain works”, says Dean Begim VP of operation. “Ecommerce packaging requires reliability as well as sustainability. Those who don’t move forward with this new program will have a short-term future."

According to Dean Begim, AVC’s most significant asset is understanding the client and eco-friendly packaging. “Unique package specifications require customization. Our job is to match the packaging to the product requirements by minimizing packaging waste while reinforcing safety and security. From the initial design stage to the package arriving safely on the purchaser’s front porch, AVC’s FFP will provide this perfect solution."

The goal of FFP is the creation of sustainable packaging products which Amazon has actively encouraged its vendors to create. In 2017 alone, Amazon has eliminated more than 244,000 tons of packaging materials and saved the equivalent of 305 million shipping boxes. To put it in perspective, you’ll need around 6 thousand 18 wheelers to haul all those packages. Since the FFP is being mandated by Amazon this summer, it is inevitable all other retailers will soon follow.

AVC Corporation is a logistics service provider and a global retail packaging manufacturer with over 30 years of experience. AVC has been working with lead retailers in the market, such as Amazon, Wal-Mart, and Costco to provide environmentally sustainable packaging products.

All AVCs designs involve experienced and topnotch industry research personnel and is done at its’ facilities in California, where the manufacturing, packaging, and logistics takes place. To supply the always growing demand for products coming from Asia, AVC has integrated the manufacturing processes within their five operations in China which not only produce the FFP packages but also package and ship them directly to the USA distribution centers.
