The GEI Mateer 1100DAB servo driven, Allen Bradley PLC controlled auger filler at PMMI's uses a bulk-and-trim filling mode for control of final package weights to an extreme accuracy within ±0.25% of targeted fill weight. Commercially available electronic balance scales require virtually no calibration.

The Allen Bradley PLC Model 550 Panelview is a commercially available off the shelf touch screen interface that is commonly found on other machinery throughout the user's packaging facility. The PLC can be reprogrammed onsite to perform functions other than those originally intended or supplied. The addition of PLC controls leads to reduced maintenance costs and the need for any proprietary electronics.
