How Does Aquila Achieve Tighter Control?
Aquila uses two unique design features to improve registration control: the point scanner for mark detection, and the internal clock for registration measurement. These features improve measurement accuracy. The point scanner contains a microprocessor that receives feedback from the mother board to adjust threshold levels, gain, and offset before the scanner signals have a chance to deteriorate. This provides two improvements in scanner performance:

    1. The scanner detects the lighter colors (such as yellow) as well as the darker colors commonly used for color registration.
    2. Smaller registration marks may be used.

How Does Aquila Help Diagnose Mechanical Problems?

    1. History of average registration error for each print station for each run can help identify press problems.
    2. Frequency of registration error and where it occurs can help identify when press problems occur.
    3. Distribution of registration error and registration movement over time can help indentify developing press problems.
    4. This data, presented in simple graphs, helps identify when and where process variations occur.
