Advanced Desiccant Technology

Shippers, distributors, packagers and warehouse managers can better protect wood and wood products from moisture damage with Container Dri II desiccants. Available in convenient 125-gram bags, the product is placed between packaged or cargo during warehousing, or while loading containers prior to shipment. The desiccant absorbs up to three times its weight in water, allowing moisture to enter through its flexible microporous packaging film. Once inside the interior of the bag, the proprietary formulation concentrates water vapor into a thick gel and prevents it from escaping. It continues absorbing water vapor for up to 40 days.

The desiccant reduces total systems costs by ensuring that wood products are unblemshed. It also protects corrugated packaging from moisture, preventing labels from deteriorating and cartons from collapsing.

Generally, three bags are recommended for 20ft. shipping containers, and 60 bags for 40ft. containers. The number may vary depending on the time and mode of transportation, and the temperature and climate changes anticipated during transport. Used bags may be disposed of like any normal waste stream product.
