Datamax202 direct thermal printer is designed for labeling and non-traditional point-of-sale (POS) applications, including document tracking, inventory control, addressing and shipping, and receipt and coupon printing. At less than 1.5 lbs., the printer takes up very little desk space and fits easily into medical offices, retail stores, pharmacies, mail rooms and factory areas. As a label printer, it can be used for applications including specimen labels, prescription labels, videotape and diskette labels, shelf labels for grocery and convenience stores, and identification labels for assembly line parts.

In addition to printing labels, the printer is ideal for producing cash register receipts and coupons at checkout stands. As a dual-use printer, the system can be controlled from either a Windows printer driver or directly via an enhanced version of EPSON ESCPOS, a commonly used retail industry software language that interfaces with receipt printers.

The printer prints an image area up to 3.14in. (80mm) wide and can produce approximately 450 labels per hour, running at 2in. (51mm) per second. The system is equipped with an RS232 serial communications port, offers 203 dpi (8 dots/mm) resolution, and features a drop-in media loading design that eliminates manual threading.
