A line of bored-to-order flexible gear couplings in 14 basic sizes is available

A line of bored-to-order flexible gear couplings in 14 basic sizes is available. Flexible gear couplings provide maximum torque capacity while helping to minimize the effects of unavoidable misalignment and end movement of coupled shafts. Standard gear couplings are available in sizes 0-7, and in flexible or rigid styles. Industry standard shrouded and exposed bolt patterns allow the couplings half-for-half interchangeability with other manufacturer's products. Stock sizes can accommodate shafts from 1/8-in.-10¼ in. and torque ratings up to one million inch pounds. Couplings can be supplied rough bore or finished bored and keyed to size. Custom products are also available.

Couplings feature a gear tooth design on which three working portions of the tooth, the flanks, tips and chamfers, are fully crowned for superior mechanical power transmission. Increased tooth contact area improves the load carrying capacity of the teeth regardless of operating conditions and provides ball and socket piloting action at all misalignments. As a result, connected equipment is able to operate at higher torques, speeds, and misalignments with resultant longer life.

Gear couplings feature reverse mounted hubs for applications where greater than standard shaft separation is required. By mounting the hubs onto the shafts in reverse position, the shafts can be easily connected using standard components. Stock standard gear couplings can be bored to size and shipped in 24 hours or less. In many cases, custom orders can be manufactured and shipped in two weeks or less.
