Acker Tapped as President of Placon Corporation

MADISON, WI (August 15, 1999) – Jan Acker has been named President and Chief Operating Officer of Placon, according to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Tom Mohs. Placon, one of the nation's leading thin-gauge plastic thermoformers and packaging integrators, serves Fortune 500 clients throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

Acker comes to Placon from Fabri-Kal, a Michigan-based plastic thermoforming company, where he served as Vice President of Operations. There he was responsible for domestic and international operations, as well as key account management. Prior to his position at Fabri-Kal, Acker held managerial positions in operations and engineering at Placon. His strong engineering background also includes experience at Ingersoll-Rand and Rockwell International.
A native of Horicon, Wisconsin, Acker is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He and his wife Sara have three children.
